"Cypress Triple Thr3at is more than just Basketball. It's not about wins and losses or trophies and medals. We are about giving our players an opportunity to use basketball as a vehicle to get a college education."
Coach Steve Odom
Internships
For those players who decided to move on to the collegiate level, Cypress Triple Thr3at will remain with them. We are partnering up with several businesses, such HyQuest for those students who are majoring in business the opportunity for a summer internship in Washington, DC. There are several other internships in the works, as well as others wanting to partner up with Cypress Triple Thr3at.
Community Service
Cypress Triple Thr3at also has a community service program that all players will have to attend. Being of service to the community is not only the right thing to do, but it's valuable. Colleges are always looking to see if potential recruits have participated in community services. Every coach we've talked with about our players has asked about their community service activities, hence why we've started this program. We have an outstanding Community Service Coach who knows the value of services after spending 22 years in the US Navy mentoring, training and leading young men and women.
Mentorship/Leadership Development Program
We believe every Cypress Triple Thr3at player should be exposed to proper role models. A young athlete can observe behaviors, attitudes, and values that could lead to important life lessons to use on and off the court. We've created a program where all players will have to participate once a month in mentorship activity, such as a Zoom call with one of our business sponsors about the importance of education, leadership, etc. We had high school and college coaches willing to speak with players about what to expect as a student-athlete.
